Melissa’s Home Cooking introducing Lemon Marmalade and Lime Marmalade. These would be great additions to your breakfast table with your English muffins, biscuits, toast or even your yogurt. With the fall around the corner, grilled cheese sandwiches served with soup is popular. Brighten up your grilled cheese sandwich with one of our marmalade’s. Bake a Brie, top your cheese with a few spoonfuls of marmalade, wrap the whole thing in phyllo or puff pastry, and bake at 400 degrees. Want to make a glaze for your brisket for that next BBQ. Easy, melt a little bit of the marmalade with spoonful of water to thin it out some, and pour over your brisket as it cooks. Make a sticky, yet delicious glaze for your chicken for dinner tonight, just brush it over the chicken throughout cooking. We have three marmalade’s for your choosing, Lemon, Lime, and Orange. Melissa’s Home Cooking will be at the Living Water Christian School in Rosenberg, Texas this Saturday from 9am to 4pm. We will be there with our freshly baked cinnamon rolls, and all of our jams, jellies and condiments. Perfect time to get some Melissa’s Home Cooking products for your Easter Sunday meal. Jam, for your morning breakfast before heading off to church, and jelly for your meat marinade for Easter Lunch/Dinner. We also have some great condiments for all the cook outs that will be happening in Spring and Summer. We have our sweet and Hot Mustard that works great in Deviled eggs for Easter, or to slap on your hamburger buns. Our Mustard also makes a tasty Potato and chicken salad. Melissa’s Home Cooking also has Texas candy (Candied Jalapeno slices) that pair well with burgers, and hot dogs. The Texas Candy could even be chopped up, and turned into a spicy relish for your salads, hot dogs and devil eggs. Melissa’s Home Cooking will be absent from Heart of Katy Craft Show this Spring. We will return in the fall. We are sorry for any inconvenience. Due to a family emergency, we have had to with drawl ourselves from Spring Heart Of Katy Craft Show. As soon as we get all our dates for all the shows coming up in 2019 Fall/Winter shows, we will add them to our events page. Keep a look out for those dates, so you can add them to your calendar. This Saturday January 26th from 9 am to 6 pm, you can find Melissa’s Home Cooking at the Maverick Band Fundraiser at 21000 Franz Road Katy, Texas. We will have most of our jams and jellies available for sale along with our freshly baked cinnamon rolls. There will be many vendors through out the building to shop from. Come enjoy the nice cool weather, and find those gifts for Valentines coming up, and winter birthdays. Hope to see all your smiling faces there.
Melissa’s Home Cooking will be at the Frosty Fest at the Epiphany Catholic Church in Katy, Texas off of Westgreen and Highland Knolls. We will be open from 9am to 3pm Saturday. We have the perfect gifts for your last minute Christmas shopping and the perfect sweet treat, our cinnamon rolls, while you take a look around. For the holidays we have a few limited edition items to complete your holiday meals. We have Pecan Praline Syrup (made with Pecan Praline liquor ) and walnut syrup to top off your families waffles/pancakes in the morning. We also have our cranberry sauce that adds a great addition to your dinner table. The sweet, tart, citrus cranberry sauce enhances the flavors of turkey and pork along with the sides. We hope to see all your smiling family faces this Saturday.
This Saturday from 9am to 4pm, you can find Melissa’s Home Cooking at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church off of Franz road. We will be set up outside near the parking lot. We will have our freshly baked cinnamon rolls and all our jams, jellies and condiments. There will be 70 booths of crafts, clothes, collectibles and home decor for the holidays. There will also be free exciting activities for the children such as face painting, bouncy house and petting zoo. During lunch, take a break from all the fall festivities and enjoy a BBQ Sandwich the church will be selling. All proceeds go to the church missionary groups. Come and enjoy the fall festivities at St. Paul. Please bring any recycled mason jars with the rings to our booth and receive a complimentary cinnamon roll. Must mention this post.
Coming up this weekend Friday and Saturday, you can find our booth at Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church Fall Gift Market. We will have our freshly baked cinnamon rolls, along with our jams and jellies including some new flavors to sample. There will be tons of booths to shop at, lunch served inside church upstairs and an silent auction where one of our baskets can be found. Enjoy the Fall weather as you stroll down the side walks of vendors. Than when you get hungry for lunch, stop your way inside to the cafe. After sitting down enjoying a lunch and fellowship, enjoy some more shopping among the many booths located upstairs and downstairs inside the church. We are looking forward to see all our smiling customer faces. If you have any empty mason jars with the rings, please help us recycle and bring them to our booth for a free cinnamon roll. Fall is almost here, which means Melissa’s Home Cooking events are just around the corner. Do not forget to check our events page on our website to view where we are headed to next. First show for the season will be located at Katy High school in Old Katy. We will have our shelves stocked up full with over 40 flavors of Jams, Jellies, Condiments and our cinnamon rolls. There will be many booths to shop from located all across the school; the gym, cafeteria, and hallways between the gym and cafeteria. We are excited for Fall and Winter and hope your are too. Fig Preserves are back on our shelves along with Strawberry flavored Fig jam and No Sugar Added Strawberry Fig Jam. Figs are great antioxidants, as well as fiber resource along with beneficial minerals. We all remember our grandmother in the kitchen canning fresh figs from the tree. So go pull out your grandmother’s recipe books, and make a delicious Fig cake, or just have figs straight out of the jar. Figs is a wonderful fruit that can play well with many foods. Not only can you make a sweet treat, but goes perfect over some brie making the perfect appetizer for any table. Not a Brie fan? Do not worry, it goes well with many other sweet cheeses as well such as goat cheese, blue cheese, etc. Moving right along to the main course, cook up a fabulous fig glaze for chicken thighs, lamb chops, and even pork chops. Want something for the morning? Our Strawberry flavored Fig Jam can turn your boring plain yogurt into a fruitful flavorful yogurt everyone will be grabbing for. Delicious summer dessert without the sugar. If you do not want the sugar and need a dessert for the next church pot luck or family BBQ, give this recipe a try using only 4 ingredients.
A dessert for those that wish or can not have sugar but still enjoy desserts. Easy recipe to put together for any gathering; Pot Lucks, Church functions, family get together's. Best to make day before to allow to chill and set over night.
- 1 1/2 cups Sugar Free shortbread cookies crumbs
- 1 stick butter melted
- 8 oz Sugar free cool whip
- 16 oz No sugar Added Monkey Butter
In a food processor, process sugar free cookies into crumbs and measure out 1 and 1/2 cups of crumbs.
Melt 1 stick of butter. Mix melted butter and cookie crumbs in a bowl.
Press the cookie crust into the pie plate along the bottom of the pie plate bringing it up a about half way up the edge of the pie plate.
Bake in a 350' preheated oven for 8 min. Allow to cool on counter
In a mixing bowl, pour in 16oz no sugar added monkey butter. Fold in 4 oz of sugar free cool whip. Pour in pie plate, spread evenly.
Top the pie off with the remaining 4oz sugar free cool whip. Set in fridge to chill.
Optional: Drain a can of pineapple chunks or rings (reserve juice). Slice bananas and soak in the pineapple juiced drained from the pineapple. Decorate the top of your pie with the sliced bananas and pineapple chunks.
Let the pie chill in fridge over night to allow to set. To prevent browning of the bananas , wait to top the pie with bananas and pineapples until your ready to serve. This recipe can also be made with our sweeten Monkey Butter.
